Orders containing New Releases that are submitted in advance (Wednesday through Tuesday evening) for Wednesday new releases are shipped Wednesday (the day the books are released). All other orders usually ship within 24-48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). Please note that problems relating to credit card status or billing information provided by the customer can delay shipping.

The cost is calculated by weight, and as it is quickest, will be more expensive than Priority Mail International shipping or using a Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelope.”

- It's less expensive than you might think to ship internationally! Here's a helpful hint: Orders of 10 comics or fewer can usually ship via Priority Mail International Flat Rate Envelope which arrives in only 7 to 10 days at a cost of only $20.95 to Canada, $24.95 everywhere else. (Please note that this option is not available in all countries and cities). Please note that Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope orders are by necessity shipped in an envelope, not a box, and therefore may arrive with damages we cannot be held accountable for. However, we have generally found this method to be a quick, economical, and safe method of shipping, and we very rarely get complaints about it.
During checkout, you will be given the option to choose between Economy Mail, USPS Priority Mail, and UPS. All domestic orders are shipped within 24-48 hours (excluding weekends and holidays). EXCEPTION: New releases ordered in advance will be shipped on Wednesday (new release day). Please note that problems relating to credit card status or billing information provided by the customer can delay shipping.
Qualifying domestic orders of over $75.00 can be shipped free by USPS Economy. Free shipping applies to all domestic orders that are composed only of comic books, graphic novels, books, magazines, and back issues that exceed $75.00—simply select the free ECONOMY MAIL shipping option during checkout.
Orders that include statues, toys, apparel, grab bags or other merchandise cannot be shipped for free. If you order over $75.00 in comics, with some merhandise included, select ECNONOMY MAIL for a special discounted shipping rate. Unfortunately, Previews orders and international orders do not qualify for free shipping.
In the event that there will be any delays due to holidays, etc, we will post a notice stating this on the site.
We certainly do! Just choose USA as your country for your shipping address, and you will be charged a domestic rate. We should mention that orders shipped by Economy Mail to APO or FPO addresses are subject to large delays, and we would recommend selecting USPS Priority Mail instead.
Yes! We currently have a program for back issues (older comics) only. Just place an order for back issues and proceed to checkout. You’ll see a shipping option for free delivery to one of our three New York locations. Just select the store you want and pay with a credit card. We’ll send you an email when you order has been charged, and three business days late you can pick up at the store you selected. Just bring a printed invoice and the credit card you used, and ask for your order at the counter. Please come within two weeks to ensure your order is still readily accessible. And please review your order before you leave the store to make sure you’re satisfied.
Yes, we use recycled bubble wrap to fill boxes.
New Releases, General Information
Every comic book is shipped to our customers in a Midtown Comics brand peel-and-stick bag and board, absolutely FREE. Midtown comic book bags are 2.25ga thick polypropylene, and feature a 2-inch re-sealable flap that makes comic book archiving and storage easier than ever. Our boards are acid free and completely archival safe.
All our books are brand new, near mint. Additionally we bag and board all comics before shipping at no charge.
Yes, all books are first printing unless otherwise noted.
New releases are posted every Thursday for books arriving the following Wednesday.
Yes, new releases can be ordered as soon as they are posted on Thursday. However, any order containing new release books cannot be completely processed until after we actually receive the new books on Wednesday, regardless of what day they are ordered.
Yes you can. However, we reserve the right to reduce the quantity that we ship on those rare occasions when supply is running very low. You will always be notified by e-mail in this unlikely event.
Due to the collectibility of the comics and merchandise we sell, we are unable to accept returns. In the case of damaged or mis-shipped orders, please contact us at

Unless otherwise noted, all sales are discounted off the list price. In the case of multiple sales applying to the same item, we always take the largest of the discounts. The final price you’re paying will be displayed in your cart.
Payment Information
We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and PayPal for both domestic and international orders. We don't accept wire transfers at this time.
If you have another credit card, go to My Account and click on "Check Order Status". Click "See Details" for the declined order, then go to "Select A Payment Method" and enter new credit card information.

General Ordering Information
Orders are processed automatically. Additional items would require a separate order. Shipping of two orders cannot be combined.
Occasionally, an item will be temporarily out of stock; such back-ordered items will be shipped within 30 days at no additional cost. On rare occasions, an item may no longer be available; you will not be charged for such items.
You can verify the status of your order on the site at any point in time by clicking "View Order Status" on your "My Account" page. If you have further questions, please contact the shipping department at
[email protected]. Please bear in mind that email is answered during business hours (Monday-Friday 10-5pm).
You can cancel an order as long as you do so before it is marked "ready to ship." From your "My Account" page, click "View Order Status," and from here you'll see a button to cancel the order.
Previews Information
Previews is the full-color catalog that comic stores order from. You can browse through the current issue of Previews online
here. Hard copies of Previews are available to advance-order customers at a special price of $3.37 per month (a saving of 25% on the cover price of $4.50).
Simply browse through the Previews catalog online on our
Previews page. You can also search for items through our site's main search function -- just choose the "advance order" filter on the left of the search results. Once you've found an item you want, add it to your cart as you normally would. Then proceed to checkout, where your advance-order items will be charged like a normal order. The shipping cost will be determined and charged at time of shipment.
The Midtown Pull List service offers you the most freedom of any Pull List in the industry. You simply choose ten or more monthly titles, and a shipping frequency, and every issue of your titles will be mailed to you. There's no commitment, and you can cancel at any time with only a couple of days' notice. You can add just about anything on our site to be shipped with your Pull List , all at Midtown's low prices. Previews orders, in contrast, offer much higher discounts, but are locked in two months in advance. Every month you pre-order the items you want at unbeatable prices, and they'll be shipped out to you as they're released.
Shipping costs for Previews orders are not assessed or charged until the order is ready to ship out. This means your shipping cost will depend on your shipping option, your Previews shipping schedule (weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly), and the schedule on which the items you ordered are released. If you select weekly, every week, all items released during that week will be packed up and a shipping rate calculated based on our shipping rates table. After you are charged that rate, the items shipped out.
For a less expensive option, select monthly shipping. Usually, most or all items from a Previews catalog will ship during the same month, so they will therefore all ship together, on the last Wednesday of the month, if monthly shipping is selected. Sometimes, however, an item is released the week before the month starts, or a few weeks after it ends. This is especially true with the Previews and Marvel Previews catalogs, which often ship earlier, and with merchandise, which if often solicited several months in advance of release and therefore ships out late. If you are placing orders every month, this doesn’t matter so much, because late items from one Previews catalog automatically roll over into the next month’s order, and the shipping cost is combined. If you only place one order, though, there is a risk that you will be shipped and therefore charged for shipping, a stray items or two separately from you’re the bulk of your monthly order. For international orders especially, this can result in a hefty shipping cost for only one book, so please be careful in placing a single Previews order.
Please note, as well, that free shipping is not available for Previews orders.
Shipping costs for Previews orders are not charged at point of purchase, but about one week in advance of shipment. So you will be charged on Wednesday or Thursday for items being released the following Wednesday. (Charging a week in advance helps us keep to a Wednesday shipping schedule!)
You can update your account with any new shipping address and/or billing information, and contact our customer service team at
[email protected] so that the order can be reprocessed. If your order has been declined for shipping for more than 90 days, we’ll suspend the order and shoot you an Email. At that point, we can cancel the order and refund you for the items, minus a 15% restocking fee. If you’d still like to receive those items and they’re still in stock when you contact us, we will happily reprocess the order and ship them out for you!
Unfortunately, the way our system is set up we cannot currently combine Previews orders with any other orders. They need to ship separately.
Previews orders ship on Wednesdays, but when they ship depends on the customer’s selected shipping cycle. If the cycle is set for Weekly, then every Wednesday that any items ordered are released a shipment will go out. A bi-weekly shipping cycle means a shipment will go out on the second and last Wednesdays of the month, a monthly cycle on the last Wednesday of the month. If you select monthly shipping, you therefore may have to wait for your shipment, but you’ll get more items in one shipment, saving you money on the shipping cost. If you select weekly, you’ll get your orders faster, although you’ll usually pay more in shipping. Nevertheless, if you’re only ordering one item, you’re better off with weekly.
Up until the Previews deadline, we're glad to cancel any Previews orders you make – just contact us at
[email protected], and we'll cancel the order and refund you for the charge right away. After the order deadline has passed, though, we will have already locked in your order and placed our own orders for your items with our suppliers, so we ask that no Previews orders be cancelled after that date.

Please note that we do not accept PayPal for Pull Lists.
You can add extra items such as toys, back issues, graphic novels, or just about anything on our site to your Pull List order by placing the item in your shopping cart, opening the cart, and clicking the little blue "plus" icon next to the item. Adding merchandise other than comics, books, graphic novels, or magazines, will eliminate free shipping on orders of $75.00 and above.
- Deadline to make changes: If you want your changes to be effective immediately with this week's releases, submit them before Saturday night at 5PM EST. Otherwise, your changes will take effect with the titles released the following week.
- PLEASE DO NOT EMAIL CHANGES OR ADDITIONS OF TITLES; THEY MUST BE DONE ONLINE ONCE YOU LOGIN.
- E-Mail confirmations: You will receive one only when activating or de-activating your Pull List . To confirm the status of any other changes that you make in your Pull List , refer to your "My Account" page.
Weekly Pull Lists ship every Wednesday, of course, while bi-weekly and monthly Pull Lists ship out every two weeks and every four weeks respectively. Because some months have five Wednesdays in them, the time during the month when a Pull List ships out can change. When your first Pull List shipment is sent out depends on when you start your Pull List , so expect a shipment the first, second, or forth week after starting. Please note that if you start your Pull List after the Saturday deadline, there is a one-week delay in the first Pull List shipment. Also, if you suspend and restart your Pull List this can confuse our system, so if you do this and you’re concerned about when your shipment will arrive, just drop us a line and we’ll be glad to let you know when your shipment will be going out.

At Midtown Comics we use Overstreet guidelines for grading and pricing. If you have any questions about an item, please contact us at [email protected] before purchasing. Midtown Comics uses Overstreet values as a benchmark, but all of our comics are actually priced lower.
If you feel you must return a back issue, please contact us by e-mail or phone within 12 days of receipt of shipment. Credit or refund will be issued after we have inspected the returned item, providing that it is returned in the same condition as it was when originally shipped to you. Use the same box and packing material that we used in shipping. Only the purchase price of the books will be refunded. Return shipping and insurance costs is the obligation of the buyer, which will not be reimbursed for any reason. Returned merchandise must be received by us within seven days of the date from which you contacted us about the return.
