A historical comedy highlighting history's most passionate bath-lovers: the ancient Romans and the modern Japanese! Whenever Roman architect Lucius is suddenly submerged in water, he surfaces to find himself in the land of the flat-faces, a people whose appreciation for the public bathhouse matches that of even the mighty Romans! Though observing the strange practices of these foreigners has allowed Lucius to revolutionize the bathhouse , Lucius has never been able to discuss their mutual love of bathing with a flat-face. Despite their advanced culture, it seems these flat-faces were never taught Latin! How could they, when Latin is considered a dead language in Twentieth century Japan? But not completely dead...On one of his travels, Lucius encounters a young researcher who is able to communicate with him in Latin!
