Action Comics Vol 2 #2 Cover A Regular Rags Morales Cover,10/29/2011 1:05:35 AM

Yet another hit from Grant Morrison. A new twist on Krypton and and new beginning to something greater. A must read!
   Detective Comics Vol 2 #2,10/29/2011 1:08:31 AM

Good follow up to number 1. A deep Bruce with lots of thought. Wonderful art and a cliffhanger ending.
Justice League Vol 2 #2 Regular Jim Lee Cover,10/29/2011 1:12:34 AM

Pure awesome! The team is slowly building up and coming together. The next issue is something to look forward to. The event is coming.
Action Comics Vol 2 #3 Cover A Regular Rags Morales Cover,11/5/2011 3:39:05 PM

Some flashback scenec provide a good setting and some layering for things to come and new Superman's origin. A little jumpy in a few panels but this will surely lead to an awesome 4th issue. Must read.
   Detective Comics Vol 2 #3,11/5/2011 3:37:23 PM

A few twists in this issue. The art is still captivating and fitting to the story. There was some drag on this issue and it may need a bit more to pick back up but overall a good issue.
   Six Guns #1,11/5/2011 3:41:34 PM

Something different from Marvel. A modern western tale with a bit of mystery thrills. There was some setting up of characters in this one and hopefully the next one picks up.
   Aquaman Vol 5 #2,11/6/2011 9:59:44 AM

Another fantastic issue. The trench continues and Aquaman shows he is more than just a joke. Don't get in this Aquamans way. Recommended reading.
   Superman Vol 4 #2,11/14/2011 10:56:11 PM

Another good issue. Some may say it's wordy. But I think it adds to the storytelling. Also a great example of one full story in an issue. One challenge and solution. A bit more addition and it could be great. So ar good.
   Aquaman Vol 5 #3,11/26/2011 7:49:01 PM

Another 5 star issue. This one starts with some action scenes and leads into some deep dialogue and mystery and leaves you wanting more. Aquaman is at the top of his game and gaining momentum. Must read and add to your pull list if you haven't yet.
Green Lantern Vol 5 #3 Regular Doug Mahnke Cover,11/18/2011 2:20:20 PM

There is a lot going on with Green Lantern lately. And that's Sinestro and Hal. The action is building, the dialogue insightful, and the ending, cliffhanging. No spoilers here but something to look forward to. As far as where this is all leading it's still a mystery, not as clear cut as the rest of the DC 52. But still a good read for true Lantern fans. For not so much loyal fans of OA and the ring, a fun read nonetheless. Somwehere between 3 1/2 and 4.
Justice League Vol 2 #3 Regular Jim Lee Cover,11/20/2011 12:05:26 PM

Starts off with some funny moments but then the action builds up. This issue is full of action panels and sets the team up. We see more members coming together and a last panel which makes you want to smile and get anxious for number 4. Truly recommended. Johns and Lee are doing great on this run.
   Superman Vol 4 #3,11/26/2011 7:53:00 PM

We get a lot more insight and history into the life and times of Superman and Clark. We eventually get into the even of the issue and it all feels complete and good. Though there is that feeling that this one is lacking something. The art is impressive but the story has yet to lead us to a bigger event if any. 3 out of 5. If you're a Superman fan you'll love it though.
Action Comics Vol 2 #4 Cover A Regular Rags Morales Cover,12/13/2011 9:07:43 AM

Action Comics does not disappoint so far. Not only we are in for the main issue, but also a back-up featuring Steel. I won't go into the details but it all fits together to make a great issue. The action is visible in many of the panels and the art is gorgeous. Everything builds up to the last panels and leaves you hanging for more. A must read if you haven't picked Action Comics yet.
   Detective Comics Vol 2 #4,12/13/2011 9:05:07 AM

After a few issues of Detective it was leading up to this. There are a few twists and a few bits of action but in the end, there wasn't much. It was missing something, and it seems Tony Daniel didn't know either. The art was good, and this view of Batman is different and unique, but it did not live up to the greatest detective name. A new arc is approaching, maybe that will make up for this issue.
Flash Vol 4 #2 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,12/18/2011 4:05:16 PM

After the flash debut in the new 52 what can you say? Art... Amazing. It's almost breathtaking. The panels are a pleasure to watch and read. Story... Intriguing and deep on a scientific level. Making flash nite only a good read but slightly possible in your mind. The flash is fresh and truly a fun comic. There is some lag here as the story is being set but it leading to something good. 4 out of 5.
Flash Vol 4 #3 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,12/18/2011 11:26:07 PM

The art continues to be amazing! Every panel is beauty and the story continues to draw you in. There are twists and an ending beyond belief. Flash is truly on the New52 greats. 5 out of 5.
   Aquaman Vol 5 #4,1/1/2012 12:41:29 PM

The Trench are has concluded. And the past three issues built up to this spectacular finale. All the strings were tied and Aquaman and Mera shone all the way through as the heroes they are. The art is beyond belief in this one. The underwater scenes are something you feel through the page. Aquaman has become the superhero for 2011 and beyond. No longer a joke, but a true hero, a king. 5 out 5.
   Batman Vol 2 #4 1st Ptg Regular Greg Capullo Cover,1/9/2012 10:58:48 PM

Beware the Court of Owls! This is truly an amazing book. Snyder and Capullo do not fail. The art is gorgeous, the story is beyond belief. Just the way the characters, dialogue and Snyder's storytelling weave together is truly a work of art. This is honestly one of the best of the new52. Secrets are revealed and action panels come to life. This is a must read and if you haven't read it or trade waiting you are missing out! 5 out of 5. Issue 6 couldn't get here fast enough.
Batman Odyssey Vol 2 #3 Regular Neal Adams Cover,1/1/2012 6:07:46 PM

I don't know who will like this. The story is all the place. The art is just a mess at times. And to be honest there's so much going on you're left feeling empty and that you wasted your time. I actually got this issue in error but then decided I'd give it a chance. There's a reason I never got this to begin with. 1 out of 5 stars.
Flash Vol 4 #4 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,1/1/2012 12:37:37 PM

The Flash truly is amazing. What really stands out in every issue is the art. If anything makes this a 5 out of 5 comic it's the art. The story also is engaging and this one takes you back for some history. We also get resolution to last issues cliffhanger. Truly recommended.
Green Lantern Vol 5 #4 Regular Doug Mahnke Cover,12/18/2011 4:00:58 PM

Another wonderful issue. After a cliffhanger in issue 4 we are led into some secrets revealed. Emotions that are exposed. And another event that will drop your jaw and get yoyo excited for the next. There isn't much action here but the story is amazing. What else can I say without spoiling. Get it. Hal and Sinestro is a must read!
Justice League Vol 2 #4 1st Ptg Regular Jim Lee Cover,12/28/2011 11:35:55 PM

Amazing. Just amazing. Aquaman has really stepped up in this issue and his debut is one to savor. There is a lot of action but it is also sprinkled with dialogue that feeds the rest of the story. The team has finally met each other to a certain degree. And in the end they realize a common goal which I will not spoil. If you hav not yet got your hands on this get it. For the sake of the new 52.
   Superman Vol 4 #4,12/31/2011 8:42:00 PM

Another issue of Superman where we're led down the rabbit hole some more but don't really find anything. The story is building to something and that is good but it's being stretched in a manner that is bringing down the arc. The art is good, not the best. The one thing that does shine is the dialogue behind the action. Lois and Clarks interactions. The relationships between Perry and Lois. That is what this issue brings. For the loyal Superman fans and lovers of "soap opera" like panels. 3 out of 5.
Action Comics Vol 2 #5 Cover A Regualr Andy Kubert Cover,1/9/2012 10:51:56 PM

A new origin for the man of steel. We go back now and get a break from the main arc. Krypton looks amazing and we learn about Kal-El's parents and the last days of Krypton. We also get a little more story with a backup on the Kents. This issue also ends with a little mystery and will have you wanting issue 5. After the last four issues this is a god issue. Not an amazing standalone but complementary to the others. 4 out of 5.
Aquaman Vol 5 #5 Regular Ivan Reis Cover,1/29/2012 6:24:50 PM

The beginning of a new arc and what a way to start. Arthur is out of his element, literally. The art is very detailed and adds so much depth to the story. Aquaman continues to benefit so much from this reboot. Highly recommended. 5 out of 5.
   Batman Vol 2 #5 1st Ptg Regular Greg Capullo Cover,1/21/2012 11:00:19 PM

This is what a lot of comics should strive to be like. Snyder is a writing genius and Capullo is a master at his craft. This issue brings it all. The events that transpire chill you to the bone. The fact that the book itself becomes a part of the madness is beyond belief. And what really gets me is the fact that this is not even close to concluded. Batman is a fresh breath of air and then a hit that makes you stop and remind yourself to close your mouth. 5 out of 5.
Detective Comics Vol 2 #5 Regular Tony Daniel Cover,1/9/2012 10:55:57 PM

The beginning of a new arc but the read was over way too fast. There just wasn't enough here. We were left with a new villain, you guessed it, the Penguin but you were also left with an empty unfulfilled feeling. The back up was interesting but seems like it was meant to fill out the rest of this weaker issue. 2 out of 5.
Flash Vol 4 #5 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,1/29/2012 6:27:47 PM

Another amazing issue of Flash with some foreshadowing of Captain Cold. Barry continues to learn more about the speed force and more is yet to come. The art is amazing and so much fun to look at. Highly recommended. 5 out of 5.
Green Lantern Vol 5 #5 Regular Doug Mahnke Cover,1/15/2012 12:12:34 AM

What does an amazing conclusion to a wonderful arc look like? Read this and find out. The action is built up and done right. The art flows perfectly and the scenes pop from the page. Once the confrontation is over with we dive into some deep dialogue that is both inspiring and the beginning of something unknown. 5 out of 5.
Justice League Vol 2 #5 1st Ptg Regular Jim Lee Cover,1/29/2012 6:21:39 PM

Darkseid has arrived and this issue is action packed. If you've kept up with the arc you're seeing the team come together in this one. There's dialogue between Batman and Green Lantern that makes you enjoy the story. The art is amazing as usual and everything flows really well. This is a well dine issue. 5 out of 5.
Superman Vol 4 #5 Regular George Perez Cover,1/29/2012 6:31:08 PM

This arc continues to disappoint. The story is lagging and beyond repair. It's heading in various directions abd interest is lost. The art is okay but not what it could be. Superman should be an exemplary book but this is not holding up. 2 out of 5.
Action Comics Vol 2 #6 Cover A Regular Andy Kubert Cover,2/9/2012 12:15:44 AM

What can I say? Part 2 of a filler arc. The story was okay and had some good parts but it just didn't have that something that made you want more. What was enjoyable was the story and fun art in the back up story. All in all a grid read. Not memorable but fun.
Aquaman Vol 5 #6 Regular Ivan Reis Cover,2/26/2012 6:14:12 PM

Another amazing issue and this one featuring Mera! There is something nice about a one and done issue and this one was done very well. Highly recommended and it also sets us up for the next issue. 4 out 5.
   Batman Vol 2 #6 1st Ptg Regular Greg Capullo Cover,2/18/2012 6:58:08 PM

Just pure amazing! After issue 5 you were left with a cliffhanger and thoughts as to how this would pan out. After reading this you are left with a rush and all the action is packed in these pages. The art is as beautiful as usual. Everything flows so well and this is a true comic. Highly recommended. The one comic you should be reading. 5 out of 5.
   Detective Comics Vol 2 #6 Regular Tony S Daniel Cover,2/9/2012 12:18:42 AM

This issue really picked up and so far the arc is becoming something good. The story is deep and well written. The art is fair and fits the mood. Tony Daniels has really lifted detective comics now back from the first arc. 4 out of 5.
Flash Vol 4 #6 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,2/26/2012 9:11:39 PM

The return of Captain Cold! From beginning to end this story is laid out very well. The art continues to be amazing. Hopefully nothing ever changes in this run. The action panels are also something that must be seen to be believed. This is what a comic should be. DC is building up something great. 5 out of 5.
Green Lantern Vol 5 #6 Regular Doug Mahnke Cover,2/11/2012 2:22:56 PM

All I can say is that the art in this issue is good! The change of artist is clearly visible not that the past issues were bad but I lean toward these drawn and colored panels. The story ulis a set up for the things to come but all in all this issue is very good and leaves you wanting more. 4 out of 5.
Justice League Vol 2 #6 1st Ptg Regular Jim Lee Cover,3/3/2012 7:26:49 PM

My mind has been blown. The previous 5 issues led to this and all the action concluded in the best way possible. The story was well written and the art matched every panels feeling. There was also a bit of the usual humor near the end. What also stood out in this issue was the backup story. Learning something more about Pandora after all these months was a sigh of relief. There is still more to come and be discovered. 5 out of 5 and a must read!
Superman Vol 4 #6 Regular George Perez Cover,2/28/2012 12:46:46 PM

After all the previous issues this one truly came up to bat. The story was lacking, the art unimpressive, but in a single issue they managed to pack story, art and action. I was truly impressed and it really brought Superman back to the fore. I was close to dropping this, but now I may reconsider. Not a sure thought but this issue did entertain.
Aquaman Vol 5 #7 Regular Ivan Reis Cover,4/2/2012 11:24:09 AM

The beginning of a new arc and Aquaman is proving to be a strong character. There is mystery in this issue as the others are revealed. There is also an appearance of an old nemseis. The art in this issue is very detailed and adds so much to this story. A highly recommended read 5 out of 5.
Batman Vol 2 #7 Regular Greg Capullo Cover,3/25/2012 9:12:46 AM

A real page turner! After the events in the last issue you get a resolution and some answers to the cliffhanger. There are also many new things in this issue and revelations for the Batman family. Scotts writing is amazing and the art is truly wonderful by Capullo. A definite read to any fan of comics. 5 out of 5.
   Detective Comics Vol 2 #7 Regular Tony S Daniel Cover,3/10/2012 10:18:52 PM

A pretty good issue. Detective has not been a thrilling ride but this issue did deliver some action and story. It's a fun read, nothing to write home about but good. 3 out of 5.
Flash Vol 4 #7 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,4/2/2012 11:38:32 AM

The conclusion to the Captain Cold attack. This was a fun read with amazing panels and action art. Flash does nite dissapoint month to month. The new relationships from the reboot add something also with Iris and Patty. Flash also gets some insight into his powers and the consequences from them which opens up his universe to many story possibilities. 5 out of 5.
Green Lantern Vol 5 #7 Regular Doug Mahnke Cover,3/19/2012 3:48:03 PM

A good start to a new arc. It felt more like a setup and I believe it even said prologue at the beginning but overall a good story and we can see that something big us coming and events that will surprise and brig drama to the lanterns. 4 out 5.
Justice League Vol 2 #7 1st Ptg Regular Jim Lee Cover,3/25/2012 9:17:55 AM

The league has entered present times and has become a well known team worldwide. There are interesting developments as to the assistance they receive, their headquarters and how they work together. This has really come together since the last arc and is now enjoyable and also includes a little humor and kidding about other justice families. The back up was also interesting. Shazam is being rebooted and we see some of Billy Batson by the end. Pick this up and you'll enjoy it. 5 out 5.
Superman Vol 4 #7 Regular Ivan Reis Cover,4/23/2012 10:26:09 AM

If you are a true fan of Superman you may love this. If you are not, nothing in this issue will convince you that Superman, or even comics in general are worth reading. You will leave with a bad taste in your mouth and probably never pick up another issue. The man of steel has taken another direction and he may need some fresh writing and art to come back on course. 1 out of 5.
   Saga #1 1st Ptg ,3/20/2012 11:48:17 AM

This really did live up to the hype. BKV is a true storyteller and with a simple approach created a world beyond belief and several events in this first issue that are memorable. The art also adds to the feel overall. Fiona draws in a way that feels human and emotional. You don't get the feeling that this was made to be overly artistic but a feeling that reaches you on every page. There is a lot going on in these 44 pages but its well paced and written in a style that makes you smile and wish for more. There is something great here and it will pan out and be remembered. You must read this and enjoy it for what it is. A love story. An adventure. A drama where a story larger than it appears will he revealed. 6 out 5 but I can only give it 5.
Aquaman Vol 5 #8 Regular Ivan Reis Cover,5/8/2012 10:46:51 AM

Are you not reading Aquaman? You must. This issue and arc are spectacular. We see some background and history for Arthur and also the Others. We have emotion and relationships and a must read. Get it. 5 out of 5.
   Batman Vol 2 #8 1st Ptg Regular Greg Capullo Cover,4/23/2012 9:51:56 AM

This issue really pulled all the punches and took you for a ride. Snyder's writing is amazing and this story is still going strong. The art is also quite impressive fitting in with this entire court of owls arc. If you have not started on this Batman, do yourself a favor and begin. 5 out of 5.
   Detective Comics Vol 2 #8 Regular Tony S Daniel Cover,4/23/2012 10:23:29 AM

Disappointing. There is so much that this run needs to improve upon. It may be that Snyder's Batman is blowing past this, but in truth, it's that the writing and art in this run is awful. I didn't even bother finishing this issue. Just skimmed the art. 1 out of 5.
Flash Vol 4 #8 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,5/8/2012 10:45:23 AM

A great issue and a wonderful look into the speed force. The art as always is amazing and Barry's adventures continue. This is a solid story and enjoyable. 5 out of 5.
Green Lantern Vol 5 #8 Regular Doug Mahnke Cover,4/23/2012 10:20:42 AM

This issue was action packed and the relationship between Sinestro and Hal is perfect. There are many revelations in this issue and also a cliffhanger like no other. If the Lanterns are something you are into pick this up. Not perfect but 4 out of 5.
Justice League Vol 2 #8 Regular Jim Lee Cover,4/23/2012 9:54:11 AM

This issue was pretty good but it was a more of a filler with a little humor and insight from the Green Arrow. I won't give the story away but there isn't much in here. There was an appearance by some other characters that were interesting but an okay issue. The Shazam backup also did not impress me much. 3 out of 5.
   Nightwing Vol 3 #8 1st Ptg,4/23/2012 10:10:44 AM

I haven't read much Nightwing, but I bought this issue for the Night of the Owls event. And I have to say I was glad I did. This may have made me a fan. Not only was this a good standalone issue, but the crossover event was a hit with me. The art blew me away and I will definitely be picking up more Nightwing. 5 out of 5.
   Saga #2 1st Ptg,4/23/2012 10:18:56 AM

Best comic out there at the moment? Perhaps. The story is something fresh and new mixed in with action and a lot of thought and feeling. The art is also amazing. If Saga is not a part of your pull list you must add it. This story will be remembered for years to come. 5 out of 5.
Action Comics Vol 2 #9 Cover A Regular Gene Ha Cover,5/8/2012 10:48:34 AM

Honestly a fund read. This was a one and done with a few questions left open for future possibilities. Now will this be remembered years later? Perhaps. It was different and a good read. 4 out of 5.
Batman Vol 2 #9 Regular Greg Capullo Cover (Night Of The Owls Tie-In),5/16/2012 9:19:48 AM

Snyder and Capullo have got it right! Everything in this issue will knock you off your feet. The action panels are awesome and the dialogue is deep. The Owls have become an enemy like no other and honestly, an enemy that will become remembered in the Batman mythos. This is a definite must read for any Batman fan. 5 out of 5.
Detective Comics Vol 2 #9 Regular Tony Daniel Cover (Night Of The Owls Tie-In),5/8/2012 10:50:18 AM

I had given up on Detective, and I will not be adding this to my pull list, but this truly was a wonderful issue! Tony picked up the writing and art for the Owls event and I loved it. Now if the other issues could be this good. 5 out of 5.
   Earth 2 #1 1st Ptg Regular Ivan Reis Cover,5/8/2012 10:53:14 AM

This first issue took me for a ride. There was action, emotion, laughter and also something special that you can't exactly put your finger on but it was great. The art is amazing and Nicola knows this. The story though, that is where this issue shone. A part of me thinks this should have been part of the New 52 debut. This is worth the purchase and will lead to so many new things. Robinson has done a terrific job. 5 out of 5.
Green Lantern Vol 5 #9 Regular Doug Mahnke Cover,5/16/2012 9:21:40 AM

I've had my ups and downs with Green Lantern but this issue brought me right back in. It's just what the arc needed. There are revelations and twists and all sorts of intrigue. The art I believe is fitting to the series. Where will this all lead? The trinity war? Time will tell. 5 out of 5.
Justice League Vol 2 #9 Regular Jim Lee Cover,5/22/2012 10:11:03 AM

A new villain rises! Justice League has taken a stride forward and improved on many levels. Character development and story is wonderful here. The art is also top notch. If you have not yet read an issue, this is also a good jumping on point. 5 out of 5.
Action Comics Vol 2 #7 Cover D Variant Chris Burnham Cover,3/10/2012 7:11:04 PM

It all led up to this and it was amazing. Superman is learning more about himself and becoming something more. This is becoming a thrilling arc and new vision for Superman. 5 out of 5.
Aquaman Vol 5 #9 Regular Ivan Reis Cover,5/29/2012 11:55:37 AM

The Others arc just gets better. There are quite a few reveals in this one and also history and origins begin to slowly build in this one. Aquaman is truly an enjoyable read and has yet to disappoint. Must read. 5 out of 5.
Flash Vol 4 #9 Regular Francis Manapul Cover,5/29/2012 12:00:25 PM

The Flash is so good right now! This issue has insight into the speed force and also a look into some interesting events from previous issues. Grodd makes an appearance obviously and we are also set up for the next issue. Flash is a great read. 5 out of 5.
   Saga #3 1st Ptg,5/22/2012 10:13:56 AM

Saga does not disappoint. The art is amazing but what truly brings this to the fore is the dialogue and story. Every panel has detail in word and also emotion. It may be hard to believe but there is also something strong in some of the panels where no words are spoken but you can hear what the characters are conveying by facial and physical expressions. A truly memorable must read. The cliffhanger at the end will bring you back. 5 out of 5.
