Gettysburg The Graphic Novel HC

Description

"In the long hot summer of 1863, everybody knew the Battle of Gettysburg would be an important battle. What they didn't know was who would prevail.

Using primary sources--letters, diaries, recorded dialogue--comic-book artist C.M. Butzer plays out the violent battle, its overwhelming aftermath, and the effort to build a monument to commemorate the fallen. Then he lets Lincoln speak for himself, setting the 271 words of the Gettysburg Address against images that will resonate with those who know the words by heart...and those coming to them for the very first time."
