"""BEAU FLEUVE - The Heart of North America"" is a narrative-based portrait of Buffalo, NY amidst other parts of the United States and Canada.

Always carrying Schmincke brand watercolours, paintbrushes, pens and paper, artist Charmaine Wheatley justifies her love of hanging out by drawing this series of actual moments lived. Stories recorded include Wild Bill's racist and sexist thoughts; blue bicycle culture; fine wine drinking; a baby deer's 1st steps; metal detecting; an immigration tragedy; girl talk; etc.

Relating to the cracks of a sidewalk more than the sidewalk, Charmaine is drawn to those who colour outside the lines, question the validity of rules, and socially awkward ones who are frustrated by their inability to fit in. She almost immediately develops an intimate rapport with strangers, often sharing laughter and tears.
