In the film's second act, NASA functionary Heywood Floyd travels from Earth to a space station in orbit aboard the Orion III spaceplane, designed by Harry Lange. The classic Aurora model kit is reissued for a new generation of modelers, with an updated pattern. The Orion III is 1/144-scale when fully constructed and comes with decals and base.
