Drawing American Manga TP

Description

Capture the best of American-style manga comic art to create exciting superheroes.

For years, American comic book artists have been inspired by the style of Japanese manga artists. Manga has transformed the work of cutting-edge American comic-book artists such as Joe Madureira (Uncanny X-Men) and Ed McGuinness (Superman) so much that a new term has evolved: amerimanga. In DRAWING AMERICAN MANGA SUPERHEROES, author Andy Smith uses his own clear, informative step-by-step format to show artists exactly how to create their own amerimanga by giving traditional American figures and storytelling a twist with manga style and techniques. Tips on form, rendering, perspective, penciling, and inking, plus an easy-to-understand compare-and-contrast method that shows how to capture the best of both worlds, makes this book valuable to both aspiring artists and working professionals.
