Funky Bollywood SC

Description

Despite the Bollywood stereotype, it's not all weddings, wet saris and running around trees. In the 1970s, Indian cinema gave birth to a new breed of action movie, combining its own exuberant traditions with New Hollywood's gritty urban crime thrillers, Hong Kong martial arts cinema, and Italian exploitation fare. Bollywood action films were the domain of hard fighting he-men and gorgeous, badass, whip-wielding heroines. Bursting with color and imagination on every page, Funky Bollywood offers a freewheeling and feisty take on a world of karate killers, femme fatales, space-age lairs, bombshells and booby traps.
